The standards outlined below should be considered a guide specifically to compete at WZA Miami. These are considered to be “working weights” and movements that can be performed for multiple reps. We reserve the right to make changes to skills and loads within reason.

Elite (H /M )
This division is for the best of the best individual athletes.
Athletes in this division are expected to have performed all workouts in
the 2021 Open as prescribed with no scales or modifications and should
be amongst the firebreathers in their gym.
Elite – 1st to 20th (Via invite & qualification)
Rx – 21st to 60th (40 total spots, via invite & qualification)

Adaptive
This division is for the competitive athlete with only a few holes
in their game. Athletes aspiring to qualify for the Intermediate
division at WZA Miami are expected to have performed all workouts in the
2021 Open as prescribed, however, if vying for an Open Registration
spot in Scaled or Beginner, scaling is OK!
There will be a prescribed version, and an opportunity to do a version that is not prescribed.
Intermediate – 1st to 40th (40 total spots, via qualification)
Eligible for Open Registration in Individual Scaled or Beginner – 41st to ∞ (20 Beginner & 30 Scaled Spots)
Please note: Athletes seeking to compete in the Beginner division
should have no more than a full year of CrossFit experience. As a
guide, this would be your first or possibly second live competition if
you plan on competing in the Beginner division.
Teams RX(Advanced)
The Seated division is for all adaptive athletes that perform the
majority of their workouts in a seated position. Athletes able to
perform exercises standing will not be eligible for the seated division.
Seated athletes will compete in a singular division in the WZA Online
Challenge. At the conclusion, the top 6 athletes of each gender will
qualify to compete in the Rx division, while those athletes that cannot
perform the workouts as prescribed or finish 7th or below will be
eligible for the scaled division via Open Registration.
Rx Minimums:
Olympic lifts: (110, 55lb)
Skills: Knee Burpees,WB, floor to box, 15/10ft Rope Climb, Swim
unassisted, Most Rx gymnastic movements. Seated athletes will need
access to a wheelchair.
Higher & Lower function level athletes will be classified as:
Higher – Unable to use abdominal muscles or below ie. T-7 -C-1 impaired
Lower -Access to all or some abdominal, hip flexors ie T-8 to amputee
The Higher athletes will receive % deductions on prescribed weights.
Qualify Rx Seated – 1st to 10th (10 Spots for each Gender)
Eligible for Scaled – 11th to ∞ (limited scaled open registration spots available)
Teams Intermedios
The “Elite/Rx” Team of 3 division is designed for the best of the
best. The teams will be made up of 3 males or 3 females with athletes
and should be CrossFit Games caliber or aspiring.
Athletes in this division are expected to have performed all workouts
in the 2021 Open as prescribed with no scales or modifications.
*Athletes do NOT have to complete the Online Challenge together.
Qualify Elite Team – 1st to 30th
Qualify Rx Team – 31st to 70th
Teams Beginners
This division is for teams with only a few holes in their game.
Athletes aspiring to qualify for the Intermediate team division at WZA
Miami are expected to have performed all workouts in the 2021 Open as
prescribed, however, if vying for an Open Registration spot in Scaled or
Beginner, scaling is OK!
There will be a prescribed version, and an opportunity to do a version that is not prescribed.
Intermediate – 1st to 40th (40 total spots, via qualification)
Eligible for Open Registration in Scaled or Beginner Team – 41st to infinity
Please note: Athletes seeking to compete in the Beginner Team
division should have no more than a full year of CrossFit experience. As
a guide, this would be your first or possibly second live competition
if you plan on competing in this Beginner division.
